Closing the Gap Between Senior Leadership and Immediate Managers
Employees often view their immediate managers more favorably than senior leadership, and in many cases, this reflects the consistent, day-to-day support managers provide. However, when this gap is large or persistent, it can signal opportunities to create a more aligned and connected employee experience.
Lack of connection with leadership: Building meaningful connections requires intentional and consistent effort. Senior leaders can strengthen this by increasing their visibility, being accessible, and creating regular opportunities for direct engagement with frontline employees (town halls, onsite visits, lunch and learns).
Unclear communication from leadership: Communication around strategy, priorities, and the rationale behind decisions may not be resonating with employees. This can stem from insufficient communication, inconsistent delivery, or a lack of clarity in the information being shared. Clearly defining core messages and reinforcing them consistently across the communication channels employees use can help ensure understanding and alignment.
Manager accountability: In some cases, managers may deflect responsibility rather than fully owning and reinforcing decisions from senior leadership. To address this, senior leaders should equip managers with clear, consistent messaging, including the rationale or “why” behind decisions and key talking points, so they feel confident communicating with their teams and addressing employee concerns.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
I love going to Mexico. It's a quick trip from Denver, so it makes for the perfect getaway. The beaches are beautiful, and it has such a fun, relaxing vibe. I enjoy the culture, including the colorful traditions, the music, and their strong sense of family. It's also a great opportunity for me to practice my Spanish!
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy dancing, lifting weights, going to concerts, and checking out great restaurants whenever I can. My life lately has been spent cheering on the soccer fields.
What is your “key driver” in doing what you do?
What drives me the most is building strong relationships with my customers. I’m passionate about helping them succeed, making sure they truly adopt and get value out of the People Element platform. At the end of the day, it’s really about helping people and knowing that I’m making a positive impact in their experience.
